NEW MUSIC is being released on the airwaves by the day, but would-be purchasers cannot buy it.
A recent check with two of the leading record shops showed that only three CDS have been made available so far.
The three CDs on the shelves are The Stew, Chaos and Pan In De Blood. Retailers could not say when others would be available.
A number of producers had spoken about the high cost of putting out albums and the uncertainty of returns on their investments earlier on in the season.

"I'm worried about making back the money. And though I'm not into it for the money, I'd still like to break even but it's hard these days with all the piracy going on and the ability to get the music without having to buy it.
"My plan is to print 200 CDs then reprint if those get off; but it really doesn't make any sense printing off 1 000 at once," Adam Elias said earlier.
And those who risked the investment said the volume would be less than in previous years.

While some others like the Red Boyz and Deepu Panjwani opted to release singles and downloadables, a few have also gone the route of releasing ?to DJs and marketing on the Internet. (YB)
