Not a good night for Stray Cats

It was not a good night for the Stray Cats Calypso Tent when they made their first appearance for this season at Casa Grande Friday.
The 8 p.m show did not start until about 45 minutes later and the excuse given by tent manager Jerry Roberts was that he could not “find the music”.
And when the music was found, the patrons comprising paying customers and some tent calypsonians, had to endure lots of fidgeting on the stage before the show got going. No one knew which calypsonian was going to open after Anthony De Cheerman Waldron paid a tribute to the late emcee Zulu .
This resulted in someone in the audience asking if the cats had “gone looking for lizards”.
Friday night was no improvement on last year’s showing.
The poor organization also took away from the efforts of singers Lady C and Honesty who showed glimpses of promise.
Others on stage were Co Co, Hollaback, Annianna and Gadaffi.
