A bigger Jouvert Jam

It will be one big jouvert party this year for the annual Foreday Morning jam.

This year, a whopping 23 bands will take to the road early Saturday morning and bring the streets of Bridgetown alive. Last year, only 15 bands participated in the jump.

Co-coordinator of the foreday morning Marc Massiah advised patrons to expect a longer and more organized route this year.

“The route as per usual will go along Habour Road onto the Spring Garden Highway. This year it will now go all the way up to SBI Distributors. We have more bands so we thought it fit to extend the route and we know for sure that it will be welcomed by all revelers,” Massiah said.

He also added that, “the event has become more organized. We have bandleaders that can attest to that.”

Not only has the number of bands increased, but also the number of people in the bands. This year, 10 000 revelers will take to the road.

Jouvert jam will move off from the Princess Alice Highway at 1.am.
